Our primary mission is to provide the highest quality compassionate clinical services in Diagnostic Radiology (Medical Imaging), Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology for the population of Madina region (1,500,000). The Department will also provide outstanding education, research, and consultative service in Medical Imaging. Our primary commitment is conducting postgraduate Board program in Medical Imaging and training diploma students and intern radiographers. We are also supporting medical students, interns, graduates, and post-graduate residents in all specialties for their radiology rotations.

We will do our best to:

• Be the center of excellence for Medical Imaging in the Health Region of Madina
• Be recognized as an integrated, multidisciplinary center for the provision of Medical Imaging in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Have cooperative, mutually-supportive and valued interactions with health providers and educational healthcare organizations in the government and private sector.

King Fahd Hospital, Madina is the main hospital, which serves the whole of Medina and a referral center to all health sectors in the region and neighboring regions of the Kingdom
The Department of Radiology is run by highly qualified doctors and trained technicians and equipped with the latest technology in the field of diagnostic medical imaging.
With more than one hundred and thirty thousand imaging exam annually, whatever test you may need, you can rest assured that you will get the best service in the region.
The radiology department dates back to 1980,  when King Fahd Hospital was first operated. The department started with conventional radiology and conventional angiography. CT and ultrasound was introduced in 1982.
Today, the department is fully digital with 7 digital radiography machines and 2 flat panel fluoroscopy units, fully equipped breast imaging unit including (digital mammography, upright and prone biopsy suite, 2 high end ultrasound with elastography, vacuum assisted ultrasound and mammography unit and diagnostic WS), 6 ultrasound units with color Doppler, 2 MDCTs (16 & 64), 2 MRI units 1.5t, 2 biplane digital subtraction angiography suite, 2 dual head Gamma Cameras and 1 units of Bone Densitometry). All connected with RIS/PACS enterprise. 3T MRI and 2 SPECT CT units will be installed this year.
The department is the regional center for Saudi Board of Radiology postgraduate training program since 2003. It is also the main training institution for Madina university students, interns and residents of various medical specialties as well as radiography diplomas in the region.
